Re: What’s stopping restorative justice from working in schools? (Oct. 18)

My daughter’s school was all talk and no action when my child was being bullied. A gang of bullies tormented children for several years, starting in Grade 1 and going all the way to Grade 4. My daughter had a sudden and severe onset of anxiety from it and stopped eating. When we found a therapist for her, she had us pull our daughter out of school for a few years.

I feel guilty for not taking my daughter out of school earlier. I feel furious at the school for talking at endless meetings and acting like they were going to do something. If they had simply told me they were never going to confront or stop the bullies, I could have removed my child from the school years earlier and maybe she would not have developed crippling anxiety.

Go outside the school system to address bullying. Go to the police. Or homeschool your children.
